Specializing in Art that crosses traditions and extends cultures

Featured Artist ~ Steven Mark Glatt

The Stevie G Collection

This collection from Steven Glatt uses acrylics and natural materials. The pieces have been touched solely by his hands, the pastes, glazes and water. The pieces are unrestricted as he allows the emotions of the colors and textures to be fully expressed. The techniques present in this collection are Glatt’s impressive innovation where water manipulates art mediums across his canvases.

Artist-In-Residence ~ Clay Sculptress                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   Anitra Watley Allen: The Earthlings

The Earthlings are made from earthenware clay by ceramic sculptress Anitra Watley Allen. Allen said she refers to them as Earthlings because they are created from the fired earth. Each sculptor is unique. Allen uses various textures in her art to showcase what the clay can express. Her pit-firing embellishes the surface design’s colors. The Earthlings are enhanced with headdresses made from beads, stones, yucca, raffia, metal and paint adding to the ceremonial feel of the Earthling tribe.

Junya Shao: China Concept

Junya Shao began an apprenticeship twelve years ago in Yixing, the pottery capital of China and the teapot center of the world. Shao, a ceramic artist, built this collection on the traditions of her studies in Yixing. Her works reflect a strong foundation in the methodology of exquisite craftsmanship. Her teapots and clay purses are contemporary expressions of her own ideas about beauty and form creating the “China Concept”.
